College founded
Founded as Hindu Tamil Maha Vidyalayam by the late Nadaraja Devar and the late Ratnasingam, with the support of the Puttalam Hindu Maha Saba.
- 1984
Infrastructure crisis and rebuild
As the college grew, it faced a serious crisis due to inadequate infrastructure. Support from local benefactors made it possible to rebuild and continue.
- 2004
Silver Jubilee and renaming
The Silver Jubilee celebrations marked the school's renaming to Puttalam Hindu Central College.
- 2007
Moovendhar Vizha — Tamil exhibition
A landmark Tamil cultural and literary exhibition held at the college.
